CORONARY STENTS & ANGIOPLASTY

Healing Hearts Is What We Do.

Angioplasty is a procedure doctors use to clear a blockage in an artery.

By inserting and inflating a small balloon-shaped catheter into your blood vessel, we can widen the opening and allow blood to flow normally to your heart.

In many cases, the balloon catheter is assisted by the placement of a small mesh tube known as a stent.

The stent, which is often coated with a medication that helps to prevent plaque buildup, supports the artery to keep it open.

Depending on the severity of your condition, you might be released after an overnight stay, or a longer recovery may be required.

Your Heart & Vascular Care doctor or nurse-practitioner will provide complete instructions beforehand.
